3 Things I Like in January
3 Things that make my life easier, or that I just enjoy for the month of January
Each month on the 3rd Thursday I publish a post about 3 things that I enjoy. It might or might not have to do with anything spiritual. It might or might not be a discipleship tool. I want to share good things, and hear from you about good things I might be missing!
1. Trello App
I use Trello to organize projects and goals, etc. The teams that I supervise at church are all members of event boards. It allows us all to see each and every little task that needs to be done for an event (like a men’s retreat). We can label who is doing what, and see when they move something from “to-do” to “in-progress” or “completed” category. This way we have clear communication about what needs to be done, and where we need to follow up to make sure something “gets done”. I also like that you can use it on a phone, the web, or an app on a computer.
2. Massage Gun
I like to exercise (swimming, biking and running plus some soccer). I’m in my mid-40s. Muscle soreness happens frequently. This massage gun is cheap and I’ve had this one for about 2 years. It still works. No it isn’t quite the same as a Theragun, but it’s definitely 80% as good. It’s also WAY CHEAPER! Spoiler - the link is an affiliate link, which means if you buy something I get a tiny commission.
3. Plex App
I have used Plex for over a decade. I run the main app on a home computer that has a very large attached hard drive. I put all of my pictures and videos on that hard drive. I have them organized by year and month going back to the 80s (I even converted my parent’s VHS stuff). I remembered how much I loved it at Christmas. We just quickly pulled up Christmas videos from years ago to see how people and things have changed…
The server app runs on my PC, and then I use an apple tv connected to my computer (a roku device would work too) so that I can view my old videos on the TV in the living room. Pro-Tip: I use dropbox on all of our phones to auto-upload pictures and videos. Then each month I move the pics and videos into the appropriate folder on the PC. If I want I can delete them from my iPhone since I have it backed up somewhere else.
Conclusion
What things are you currently enjoying? What apps make your life easier? What documentaries should I watch?

Wow! These are cool! I need to pay you to help me do all this digital stuff! Is there an app to help one do all the apps?
Love Trello for project management!
