Each month I give you three things that I really like. Please share the stuff you like with me! I value stuff that helps me do important things. This month that’s play (sunglasses) and () . Some of these links are amazon affiliate links which means if you purchase something through the link I’ll get a couple percent of the sale.
#1 Photochromic Sunglasses
It’s almost HOT season in Texas. So sunglasses are a must! I was gifted a pair of SMITH Optics Shift MAG Sunglasses. They adjust to how bright the sun is… So when I’m mountain biking in the woods, they are pretty clear. Then I pop out into a flowy section in the sun and my glasses darken up. I feel like an Olympian! Now these are $250 glasses and I don’t expect many to spend that kinda cash - I didn’t. But, you can get a reasonably priced ($27) set of Rockbros brand from amazon here. Those would be good for biking, running, pickleball and even keeping kids fingers out of your eyes while you read the works of Jonathan Edwards to put them to sleep at night. (I hope that’s not what you do!)
#2 Enchanted Rock State Park in Texas
You can see more beautiful pics and get official information here. Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, this park features a hike up a steep smooth Granite outcropping that towers above the area. There are even a few small caves to explore if you don’t mind crawling around with a flashlight. It’s definitely an adventure worth taking if you are moderately fit. I think most people without mobility issues could make the hike, but it will take some folks a long time due to the incline.
#3 College Visits
My oldest daughter is almost finished with 10th grade. We started doing college visits this year as a part of our vacations and the whole family has enjoyed them. Rachel and I enjoy reminiscing about our college days, and imagining our children having the same wonderful experience. The kids enjoy seeing different places and imagining themselves there. It’s also useful to evaluate colleges/universities as a way of building their evaluative skills.
Conclusion
What sort of things are you enjoying this month? Please let me know what I’m missing in the comments!
Here’s the latest for me — the 321 evangelistic Bible study course. It’s developed by Glenn Scrivener and I think our church is going to give it a try! Also… it’s free :)
